Chanel’s Name

This is a big question for most; you ask how did Ice and I come up with a name for our daughter? Since the moment Ice and I started to talk about kids, which was about 10 years ago, we came up with our names. Yes, we already came up with a boy’s name and a girl’s name knowing in the future that we would eventually have a child it was normal chit chat, if we had a daughter Ice wanted to name her little coco after me like he did with his son little Ice but I didn’t want that because I wanted her to have her own identity, people are already going to compare us at some point and I didn’t want her to go through an identity crisis so Ice suggested us naming her something close to Coco like Chanel, (like the fashion designer Coco Chanel). I love the name Chanel and thought that it was pretty and classic at the same time. We didn’t choose the middle name until she was almost born because I was torn between a couple, I wanted Monroe because for as long as I can remember I’ve been fascinated and pretty much obsessed with Marilyn Monroe. I read books about her and we have similarities in life, I mean not her whole life time but the modeling world and how she was so ambitious like I was, which impressed me plus Monroe is actually a family name on my dads side, so I thought that was a double whammy, anyway, since she is an idol of mine I suggested that name. Ice didn’t want that for her middle name so we ended up using my real name Nicole for her middle name. So, Chanel’s name in a nutshell did eventually originate from me just not directly, also it’s like yin and yang, you can’t have Coco without the Chanel hmm hmm, I think it works for our family…P.S. if you wanted to know what the boy name was going to be, it was going to be Titan, we wanted the boy name to start with a T after the “T” in Ice T but also have the flow of all the Greek names in our family like Spartacus and Maximus. So now you all know how we got the name Chanel.
